Personal Views

All views, opinions, analyses, and arguments expressed on More-than a Feeling are my own. They do not represent the views, positions, or policies of the University of Auckland, the School of Architecture and Planning, or any other institution with which I am affiliated. The content presented here reflects my personal academic interests, research trajectories, and scholarly engagements - pursued in my own time and on my own terms.

Whilst my institutional role undoubtedly informs my thinking, the ideas developed here should not be attributed to my employer. Any errors, provocations, or unorthodox positions are mine alone.

Copyright & Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise noted, all original content on this site - including articles, images, diagrams, photographs, illustrations, and multimedia - is © 2026 Anthony R. Brand. All rights reserved.

This means you cannot reproduce, distribute, or republish substantial portions of my work without permission. However, if you'd like to use something, just ask - I'm generally happy to grant permission for non-commercial, educational, or scholarly purposes.

How to Cite This Site

If you reference, quote, or draw upon content from More-than a Feeling in your own work, please provide proper citation. I'd suggest using this format:

For articles: Brand, Anthony R. "[Article Title]." More-than a Feeling (blog), [Publication Date]. [URL].

For the site generally: Brand, Anthony. More-than a Feeling: Narratives in Architectural Phenomenology (blog). https://morethanafeeling.io

Academic conventions matter. If you're using my ideas, images, or arguments - even if you're paraphrasing rather than directly quoting - please cite the source. It's not just about giving credit where it's due (though that matters); it's about maintaining the intellectual genealogies that make scholarly conversation possible.

Third-Party Content & Attributions

Where I use images, quotations, diagrams, or ideas from other sources, I make every effort to provide proper attribution and citation. Such content remains the intellectual property of its original creators and is used here under fair dealing provisions (Copyright Act 1994, NZ) for purposes of criticism, review, research, and scholarly commentary.

If you are the creator or rights holder of content used on this site and believe it has been used improperly, please contact me immediately. I will either provide proper attribution, obtain permission, or remove the content as appropriate.

Corrections & Accuracy

I strive for accuracy and rigour in everything I publish here. However, I'm human (and a parent) - which means I occasionally make mistakes, misread sources, or overlook important nuances. If you spot an error, have a correction to suggest, or believe I've misrepresented something, please get in touch at anthonyrbrand@gmail.com.

I welcome constructive feedback and will update content as appropriate, with acknowledgment of contributions where relevant. I'm grateful for readers who help maintain the integrity of this work.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Whilst I aim for high standards, this is a blog - not a peer-reviewed journal. Content should be engaged with critically, and I make no warranties about completeness, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. If you're relying on something I've written for important decisions, please verify it independently or consult primary sources.

In short: think for yourself, check my references, and don't blame me if things go awry...

PRIVACY POLICY

What This Site Collects

More-than a Feeling respects your privacy. I don't collect personal information about visitors - no email addresses, no user accounts, no tracking pixels hidden in every corner. However, like most websites, this site does use some basic tools to understand how people engage with the content.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to gather anonymised data about readership patterns. This helps me understand which articles resonate, where readers are coming from, and how to improve the site.

Google Analytics collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page

  • Geographic location (country and city level, not your home address)

  • Device type and browser information

  • How you arrived at the site (e.g., search engine, direct link, social media)

This data is aggregated and anonymised - I can see that "someone in Auckland spent 5 minutes reading an article on phenomenology," but I can't identify who that person is.

If you'd prefer to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

This site uses cookies (small text files stored on your device) to enable Google Analytics. These cookies do not store personally identifiable information.

By continuing to use this site, you consent to the use of cookies for analytics purposes. If you disable cookies in your browser settings, the site will still function, but analytics won't track your visit.

External Links

This site contains links to external websites (academic journals, other blogs, institutional sites, social media platforms). I'm not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. When you click a link and leave More-than a Feeling, you're subject to the privacy policy of wherever you land.

Data Retention

Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's data retention policies. Web server logs (which record basic technical information like IP addresses and page requests) are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting purposes.

Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ), you have rights regarding your personal information - though, as noted above, this site collects very little. If you have concerns about privacy, contact me at anthonyrbrand@gmail.com.

Contact Form / Email Submissions

If you contact me via email or through a contact form (if implemented), your email address and message content will be stored only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry. I won't add you to mailing lists, sell your details, or use your information for any purpose other than responding to your message.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in how the site operates or in response to legal requirements. Any significant changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
